Michael Janz was first elected in 2010 as the Trustee for Ward F. He was re-elected in 2013 and currently serves as the Edmonton Public School Board Chair. He is passionate about education, literacy and community. He holds a Masters in Education and a BA in History from the University of Alberta.
Outside of trustee life, Michael has worked in the non-profit sector, researched at the University of Alberta, served on the board of the Edmonton Public Library, and engaged in many other partisan and non-partisan political campaigns. In November 2012, he was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service as was selected as one of Edmonton’s “Top 40 under 40.”
